Origin of the project

Mario Belley, founder of the St. Lawrence by bike, is passionate about bicycle travel. His ambition? To inspire as many people as possible to discover our magnificent regions by bike.

Since the project’s inception in 2014, which initially offered tours between Montreal and Quebec City, the route has gone from strength to strength. Today, it stretches 1,730 km, from Niagara Falls to Matane.

In 2022, The St. Lawrence by bike became a non-profit organization, with a mission to develop, promote and enhance the main attractions along the route.

What will your donations be used for?

The funds raised will enable us to continue developing and promoting the St. Lawrence by bike cycling route. Here are a few examples of initiatives made possible thanks to your contributions:

  • Work with local stakeholders to improve the route and services offered to cyclists.

  • Participate in major bike shows in Canada.

  • Make more communities aware of the importance of active, eco-responsible transportation.

  • Raise the profile of the route and support the economic vitality of the towns and regions along the river!

Thank you so much for your support!
