Did you know how amazing the Great Lakes are? Their unique landscapes are a mix of seashore and boreal forest. That’s why St. Lawrence by bike extended its network to Toronto in 2018. To offer you a feeling of being on vacation and the magnificent Waterfront Trail that goes along Lake Ontario. And do you know what is the best ? This itinerary is full of beaches. Here are our four of our favorites.

Sandbanks

The inescapable Sandbanks National Park offers 3 wonderful sand beaches that never seem to end because they disappear over the horizon, clear and warm water will certainly invite you to go for a swim.

Cobourg beach

You want to chill on the beach ? Bike hard and plan to be rewarded on the white sandy Cobourg Beach. Forget your hard day and chill out by a swim in the lake.

Presque Île Provincial Park

OnOnly a few miles away from Brighton, enjoy  a day of rest or take a detour on to Presqu’île National Park. Between the old lighthouse, hiking trails on the swamp, beaches and the observation of local fauna – you’ll surely have enough to enjoy an entire day.

Find your secret beach in Thousand Island

Why not give your bike a rest  for a day or two and escape on a canoe on the Thousand Island National Park. Just at the crossroad between Lake Ontario and the St Lawrence river. Find your own secret tiny beach on the islands.

    J’ai adoré les Mille-Îles, une de mes étapes favorites durant mon voyage entre Toronto et Québec.
    Je recommande à tout le monde de s’y arrêter une nuit et de troquer les vélo contre un canot. De vraies vacances dans les vacances !
