The Montérégie Rive-Sud route is 225 km of fun, magnificent landscapes and historic villages. You will sail along the shores of the St. Lawrence River and the Richelieu River.

Monteregie – Rive Sud route

Montreal to St-Lambert via Ile Notre-Dame, follow the route verte # 1. From Saint-Lambert to Sorel-Tracy, follow the directions for the route verte # 3

Sorel-Tracy follow the route and the bike paths along the river Richelieu until Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu .

The return to Montreal takes place via the canal-de-Chambly bike path from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu to Chambly. From this municipality follow route verte # 1 to Longueuil and Longueuil follow signs for route verte # 3 to Saint-Lambert and via Ile Notre-Dame, follow route verte # 1 Old Port of Montreal.

The Inn has a shed where you can safely store your bike during your stay. Just in case you need to make a quick repair on your bike, we have at your disposal an air pump and a set of tools. Hop on your bike and, in less than 2 minutes, you will find yourself on « la Route Verte! »

A 15-minute landing stage is located on the side of the Auberge on St-Christophe Street, corner Maisonneuve.

3 well-lit indoor parking, secured by cameras and especially 2 steps from the Inn are offered, all their rates include taxes:

  • Parking Place Dupuis: facing the hostel, for $ 22 per 24h. The privilege at no charge is not available.

  • Parking lot of the Grande Bibliothèque de Montreal: on de Maisonneuve Boulevard, two blocks from the hostel to the west, for $ 15 per 24-hour week and $ 10 per 24-hour week-end. The all-you-can-go privilege is included at no additional cost.

  • Parking at the Montreal Coach Station: entrance on Saint-Hubert Street (behind the station) to a block of the inn to the west, for $ 12 per 24h the week and $ 9 per 24h the weekend . Credit card required to enter and exit. The privilege at will is not available.

Home of the well-know Madeleine, Verchères is a charming village more than 300 years old. Many historical figures are natives to the place, like Calixa Lavallée, composer of Canada's national anthem, as well as the famous patriot Ludger Duvernay. Crossed by the Route Verte, the village is a good stopover for cyclists. Here, you will find a B&B and touristic attractions worth mentioning: chalouperie, communal mill, Madeleine de Verchères' statue, and St-François-Xavier Church (erected in 1787). Park furniture created by Ateliers Guyon impresses. Discover those "sail bencheserected in honor of the pioneer families of Vercheres.

If you love the countryside, go on a bike ride on des Terres-Noires and du Petit-Coteau roads. They offer nice scenery of the region's agricultural heritage.

Fans of fresh produce will not want to miss the farmer's market.
